Synopsis
The fixtures used to retain bone-anchored hearing systems and prosthetic devices must be placed in desirable locations and into an adequate thickness of bone. A simple technique utilizing a routine CT scan provides an accurate intraoperative guide to safe and stable fixture placement.
Learning Objectives
- Transfer CT data to the operative field to increase the likelihood of selecting optimal locations for craniofacial implants; and
- Discuss how standard CT data may be used to pinpoint implant placement sites.
