Synopsis
Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) is a condition that may have a broad health impact for patients undergoing antiresorptive therapy. This case-based presentation will review evidence-based and innovative strategies for risk assessment, prevention and management of ONJ with related outcomes and complications.
Learning Objectives
- Propose and compare alternative management options that provide high quality outcomes, including improved oral health and quality of life, for patients with various stages of osteonecrosis; and
- Describe how to navigate the oral health and medical dilemmas associated with patients who undergo antiresorptive therapy;
- Detect anatomic changes, risk factors and potential complications that impact outcome when treating osteonecrosis of the jaw.
