    Synopsis

    Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) is a condition that may have a broad health impact for patients undergoing antiresorptive therapy. This case-based presentation will review evidence-based and innovative strategies for risk assessment, prevention and management of ONJ with related outcomes and complications.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Propose and compare alternative management options that provide high quality outcomes, including improved oral health and quality of life, for patients with various stages of osteonecrosis; and
    2. Describe how to navigate the oral health and medical dilemmas associated with patients who undergo antiresorptive therapy;
    3. Detect anatomic changes, risk factors and potential complications that impact outcome when treating osteonecrosis of the jaw.
