    Synopsis

    This session will present a comprehensive evidence-based update of total alloplastic TMJ replacement(TMJ TJR). The presentation will include clinical indications, relative contraindications, perioperative management, outcomes data, complication avoidance and management as well as indications for revision and/or replacement.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Describe the indications and relative contraindications for TMJ TJR utilization in practice;
    2. Explain perioperative management of TMJ TJR patients and discuss the latest evidence-based outcomes data relative to TMJ TJR; and
    3. Explain how to avoid as well as manage complications and demonstrate when and how to manage revision and/or replacement should it become necessary.
