Synopsis

Acquired defects of the maxilla and mandible, whether traumatic in origin or after cancer ablation, pose a significant challenge for the surgeon as well as the prosthodontist. This symposium will discuss principles of implant placement in reconstructed defects, especially free flaps. Prosthodontic considerations to achieve favorable functional and esthetic outcomes will also be discussed.
