Synopsis

A systematic review of the most common surgical procedures for the repair of primary cleft lip and palate deformities will be decribed in a systematic approach. The Tennison, Randall and Millard lip repair techniques and the Veau, Langenback, VY pushback and Furlow palatal repair procedures will be highlighted. The indications, planning and step-by-step instructions will be presented. The advantages and disadvantages for each of these techniques will be reviewed. Minor revision procedures to repair residual palatal fistulaes and correct residual whistle-tip lip deformities will also be addressed.
