    Synopsis

    This course will guide the surgeon through the process of evaluating and treating mandibular trauma. Clinical vignettes will range from closed treatments of nondisplaced fractures to open treatments of complex mandibular trauma associated with panfacial injuries. Perioperative care, surgical access, endoscopic approaches and complication management will be reviewed.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Discuss the components of a complete evaluation of a patient with mandibular truama.
    2. Explain the anatomy and describe the open approach to the different regions of the mandible.
    3. Identify the possible complications of mandibular trauma care (infection, osteomyelitis, malocclussion) and their management.
