Synopsis

Traditional delayed loading techniques and two-stage implant placement techniques have become less popular over the past few years. Patients are looking for treatment options that avoid multiple surgeries and prolonged treatment. Current trends in implant design, different loading approaches and related prosthetic options will be discussed.

Learning Objectives
  1. Successfully choose an implant system that is suitable for a predictable immediate load approach.
  2. Describe different prosthetic designs that are suitable for immediately loading the supporting implants.
  3. Analyze the different occlusal schemes that are used for fully edentulous patients and the advantages and disadvantages of each when implants are immediately loaded.
