Synopsis
The relative merits of different management approaches, anesthetic techniques and drug regimens will be debated by a pediatric dentist/dental anesthesiologist and an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Presenters will bring their perspectives to the controversial issues surrounding the safe and appropriate management of children who require invasive procedures, and who cannot or will not cooperate.
Learning Objectives
- Identify the medical and behavioral challenges inherent in providing pediatric anesthesia services for children undergoing invasive dental/oral surgical procedures.
- Examine anesthetic options for three pediatric management cases and make an appropriate and supportable selection.
