Synopsis
Proper documentation is the key to efficient claim processing. Complete and accurate claims (including proper supporting diagnostics) are processed faster than those that are not, reducing resubmissions that delay adjudication and increase staff frustration. This presentation will review key sections of the ADA claim form, CDT codes and appropriate diagnostic narratives.
Learning Objectives
- Identify and describe those specific areas where the patient record and documentation will provide the necessary and relevant information to increase claim processing accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify the key areas of the ADA claim form, recognize the appropriate CDT code for the procedure performed and determine the key diagnostics to be included with the submission.
- Recognize and distinguish the additional information that will be used to support the claim submission, increase the accuracy of the claim submission and/or reduce the need for resubmissions that delay processing time.
