    Synopsis

Given today’s economy and investment markets, oral surgeons face an uncertain retirement. Many do not realize how much income they might need at retirement, nor understand how to turn investment assets into lifelong income. This seminar will introduce oral surgeons of all ages to the challenges, opportunities and new evolving strategies to create sustainable retirement income. In addition, it will discuss revised thinking of how to design investment portfolios to withstand sideways trending and volatile market conditions.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Discover how much income might be required at retirement, sources of this potential income and challenges to making income last throughout a lifetime.
    2. Review the current “4% distribution rule” and discuss integrating additional decision formulas and a guaranteed base income to help enhance lifetime income.
    3. Explore long-term market trends vs. cyclical trends, the impact of market losses as well as challenges to traditional asset allocation theory.
    4. Discuss implementation of a three dimensional asset allocation strategy that seeks a more balanced approach by blending a traditional buy & hold strategy with more tactical and guaranteed strategies.
