This is a non-ticketed session.The purpose of the Research Open Forum is to provide an update on the latest research that may ultimately impact the practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery. The focus of the 2012 Forum will be the clinical trial proposals developed at the 2012 Clinical Trials Methods Course. Convened in May 2012 at the University of Michigan and co-sponsored by the AAOMS, the OMS Foundation, and the Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR), a primary goal of the course was to develop a viable clinical trial proposal. Course attendees developed proposals in the areas of: Orthognathic/Obstructive Sleep Apnea,Pain/Anesthesia,Dentoalveolar/Implant,Pathology/Reconstruction,TMJ. Open Forum attendees will have the opportunity to critique each proposal. In addition to the clinical trial proposals, the Research Open Forum will include presentations from past winners of OMS Foundation Research Support Grants.
