Synopsis
In this course, attendees will learn what their doctor expects of them in the OR. They will learn the instrumentation for basic cases, TMJ arthroplasty/arthroscopy, BSSO, Le Fort I, II, III, and mandibular fractures. Attendees will also learn the proper techniques for scrubbing into a sterile field, and the difference between sterile and clean. This course will review the basic requirements, from surgery centers to obtaining surgical privileges for office staff.
Learning Objectives
- Demonstrate improve sterile technique for assistants wishing to obtain privileges at their local hospitals and or surgery centers.
- Discuss hospital instrumentation for TMJ arthroplasty/arthroscopy/ BSSO, Le Fort and mandibular fractures.
- Discuss the necessary instruments and the order in which they are used so that the case runs smoothly for the doctor and everyone involved.
