    Synopsis

    In this course, attendees will learn what their doctor expects of them in the OR. They will learn the instrumentation for basic cases, TMJ arthroplasty/arthroscopy, BSSO, Le Fort I, II, III, and mandibular fractures. Attendees will also learn the proper techniques for scrubbing into a sterile field, and the difference between sterile and clean. This course will review the basic requirements, from surgery centers to obtaining surgical privileges for office staff.

    Learning Objectives
    1. Demonstrate improve sterile technique for assistants wishing to obtain privileges at their local hospitals and or surgery centers.
    2. Discuss hospital instrumentation for TMJ arthroplasty/arthroscopy/ BSSO, Le Fort and mandibular fractures.
    3. Discuss the necessary instruments and the order in which they are used so that the case runs smoothly for the doctor and everyone involved.
